A 1950s masterpiece that embodies the elegance and creativity of vintage fine jewelry. This white gold ring stands out for its elaborate and dramatic design, the fruit of the imagination and skill of an expert goldsmith.

At the center, a magnificent, vivid, and transparent Colombian emerald weighing approximately 2.30 ct is set flush and framed by a floral and geometric composition of round-cut diamonds. On either side, four elongated emeralds—two on each side—are held in place by prongs that highlight their clarity and intense color, for an estimated total of 0.25 ct and 0.18 ct per pair.

The decoration is embellished with 48 diamonds, including 46 round-cut, 1 trilliant, and 1 baguette, all light in color and with a vivid brilliance, for an estimated total of 0.70 ct in setting. The setting, supported by a sturdy shank, features a sunburst structure that holds the ring's head with strength and elegance, making it imposing yet harmonious.

A unique piece, ideal for collectors or lovers of the most refined vintage style. In excellent condition, it features only a small chip on the baguette, invisible to the naked eye.

Definition

Ballerina ring

🌸

The "ballerina" ring is an icon of 20th-century jewelry, known for its elegance and design, which evokes the graceful movement of a ballerina. This style is distinguished by a central gemstone, often a diamond or emerald, surrounded by a radial arrangement of baguette or marquise-cut diamonds, evoking the folds of a tutu in motion.

Origins and diffusion

The ballerina ring design gained popularity in the 1950s, thanks to prestigious houses such as Tiffany, Boucheron, and Oscar Heyman Brothers. These high jewelry houses helped define the style, characterized by meticulous precision in the cutting and setting of gemstones, creating a dynamic and sparkling visual effect.

Meaning and symbolism

Beyond its aesthetic beauty, the ballerina ring symbolizes grace, movement, and femininity. The arrangement of gemstones around the center stone represents harmony and balance, making this ring a popular choice not only as a cocktail ring but also as an engagement ring for those seeking a unique and meaningful design.

Legacy and current events

Today, the ballerina ring continues to be prized for its vintage charm and timeless elegance. Collectors and vintage jewelry enthusiasts seek it out for its ability to combine tradition and originality, making it a distinctive piece in any collection.
