history The Venetian pearl is an intangible cultural heritage of humanity! UNESCO 2020. The first pearls produced in Venice date back to the 1300s and, for centuries, they would constitute a precious commodity for trade and export to Africa, America and India for the Serenissima. The new pearls date back to the 1600s, they are obtained from a non-perforated (massive) rod, heated with a flame ("lume") and cast on a metal wire kept manually in constant rotation, with infinite variations of possible additions, effects and colors. “Le Fiorate“ which belong to the category of lampwork pearls, are elegant pearls decorated on the surface with motifs of roses and forget-me-nots, adorned with thin peaks (threads) of molten glass and often enriched with aventurine (a specialty of Venetian glass based on copper crystals). Western in taste, also much loved by Venetian and European ladies.

description long silver necklace dipped in rose gold. It features authentic "flowered" lampwork beads with a black base and pink pansy illuminated by aventurine threads.

measurements length 106 cm - pearl diameter 15 mm may have minimal variations as they were made by hand.
