This company was founded in the late 1940s in Recanati, in the Marche region. Since the Middle Ages, the tradition of producing silver votive images (primarily medals) for pilgrims who stopped at the sanctuary of Loreto on their way from the Holy Land to Rome had developed here, linked to the Marian cult in nearby Loreto.
In the 1970s, a highly skilled in-house design office produced beautifully designed gold and silver jewelry with enamels and stones, as well as furnishing objects, making Ottaviani a leading company in the sector in Italy and abroad.
