Ancient snuff shop, made of hand-chiseled silver with continuous vegetal themes. the interior is golden to preserve the tobacco and the lid is hinged and closes by pressure. The tobacconist was established by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd of Birmingham with a shop in London in Bartlett's Passage, Holborn Circus, and later in Fetter Lane. The box has the brands inside the lid and is excellently preserved in its structure, patina and decorations.
