Rare model of basket for four eggs. The handle is braided like the base and the wing. The glasses are gilded and screwed to the casing which features the same decorative motifs. Four notches stop the tips of the spoons around the central flower. The market is full of objects with the same function but with cheap execution and models. This delightful example bears the Elkington marks with a date letter corresponding to 1853. Rare therefore in terms of design and prestigious signature at the height of creativity (1853).
